Google Now Personalises Search Results
At the beginning of December, Google started personlising its search engine results for everyone regardless of whether they’ve opted-in to a previously existing personalisation feature or not. You are able to opt out completely but people may have concerns that this has to be done manually. Read Googles announcement here.
Basically by watching what you click on in search results, Google can learn the websites that you prefer to visit and then boost the ranking of those sites for you. This means you start to see more of the sites you prefer higher up the listings where they weren't before. The results are therefore custom tailored for each individual.
